The Federation History Established in New York City in 2003 as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, the mission of the Universal Federation for the Preservation of Hip Hop Culture is: To preserve Hip Hop culture and provide instruction on the ramifications, significance, social history, and placement of Hip Hop culture. The Mission Our immediate goal is to create the National Centre for the Study and Preservation of Hip Hop Culture. This multi-million dollar, state of the art Centre, will be located in the Bronx—the birthplace of Hip Hop. The Centre will house the archives of the chronological evolution of Hip Hop music through the preservation of documents, artefacts, musical compositions, collections, artist biographical information and other memorabilia. Simultaneously, an educational program will be developed to serve as an international place of study.
